Chalkboard shares the Obama Administration’s vision for the future of teaching in America. Effective teachers are central to this vision—and to the CLASS Project. We are therefore pursuing a Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) grant as a means of expanding the CLASS project to all corners of the state.
Read more about the ARRA in a recently published Chalkboard and ECONorthwest issue paper, “Using Stimulus to Drive Change: Opportunities for Oregon.”
Chalkboard partnered with the Black Parent Initiative to examine the black/white achievement gap in Multnomah County. "A Deeper Look at the Black-White Achievement Gap in Multnomah County" was released in February 2009.

Chalkboard was a major supporter of Senate Bill 443 in the 2009 Legislative Session. The bill funds an online professional development clearinghouse to provide educators with easy access to relevant information. The bill calls for a commission to oversea the development of the site. Learn more about the latest developments as the site is created.
The Chalkboard Project, in partnership with the Oregon Department of Education (ODE), created a new website, www.MentoringEducators.org to provide information and resources for beginning and experienced educators, policy makers, and the general public. MentoringEducators.org is a hub where Oregonians can find an overview of the Beginning Teacher and Administrator Mentor Program, a list of participants and program locations, a mentoring calendar, general educator resources, research and much more.
